If your child or adolescent is having any of the following social or emotional difficulties, Rich & Associates can help:

  • Difficult playdates/get-togethers
  • Impulsive behavior
  • Anxiety or shyness
  • Aggression
  • Difficulty following the rules or listening
  • Disruptive in school
  • Problems connecting with others
  • Unassertiveness
  • Controlling
  • Problems making friends
  • Problems keeping friends
  • Meltdowns or tantrums
  • Gets frustrated easily
  • Moody
  • Poor self confidence
  • Difficulty joining in with peers

Many parents come to us both confused and surprised that their bright, otherwise advanced child is displaying these troubling behaviors. If this sounds familiar, then you are not alone and have come to the right place.

After preschool, half of the children with behavioral or social-emotional difficulties will grow out of it. Half will get worse. It is difficult to know which group your child is in, making it important to get help as soon as possible.

That’s where we come in. There are a number of ways we can help, using evidence-based strategies:

  • Social skills groups for preschool and elementary school students to encourage appropriate social-emotional responses with peers
  • Key skill groups for older elementary through high school students on a variety of special topics including but not limited to social skills, emotion regulation, and mindfulness
  • Psychological evaluations to answer your diagnostic and treatment recommendation questions
  • Individual therapy to skill-build more closely with your child or adolescent, predominantly using cognitive-behavioral strategies proven to get results fast
  • Parenting strategies to give you the tools you need to help your child, including a powerful therapy called Parent-Child Interaction Therapy
  • Family behavioral therapy to individually coach parents in how to improve child behavior

All of these options are geared to improve your child or adolescent's social skills and emotional regulation. To help your child make friends, keep friends, and be that sweet, happy, loving child that you know is in there. We know that you just want your child to be happy and for your family to be at peace.
